Termite
Solutions
And
here's how we handle 'em...
To
begin with, we have a solution for every termite
problem and we will find a way to make it affordable
for almost everybody. At a minimum, we can do
a spot treatment in the affected area with Phantom
or Termidor
& that will kill those termites pretty quick. That
will also kill any other termites that happen
into the treated zone, but it will not kill termites
that come up from a different nest or colony in
an untreated area. A spot treatment is kinda
considered a band aid approach, but it is a very
"environmentally friendly" approach
and if that's what you can afford to do, then
we will certainly oblige you.
We
still do conventional treatments, quite a few of
them in fact. That's where we dig a trench
(about 4"- 6" deep and wide) around the
perimeter of your home and drill patios, porches,
plumbing, and electrical drops so that we can saturate
the soil with termiticide. The termiticide
bonds with the soil to give you a treated zone at
all potential entry points. I want to tell
you a little about drilling your slab because some
people think it will damage the integrity of their
foundation... it won't. However, if you
have nice ceramic tile or hardwood floors, we will
only drill it if we know that termites are active
in those areas, and sometimes we don't even
have to drill your pretty floors then, but that
gets kinda tricky and every situation is different...
we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
We also offer termite monitoring and monitoring/treatment
programs. This what we call Termite Management
because we are actually managing termite populations. IT
IS NOT TERMITE BAITING, we feel that baiting insinuates
that we are trying to "catch" termites
with a "lure" and they have to eat the
termiticide
for it to work. Termiticide that termites have
to eat spread through their colony by trophylaxis
(they feed one another by oral and anal excretions)
and it can take a long time to control termites
that way. We
do install monitoring stations around the perimeter
of your
home and we have to check them at least quarterly...
every three months. Here is some important information
about termite monitoring... DON'T BURY THE STATIONS
IN BARK MULCH, it's hard for us to find them
if they're buried under a foot of mulch.
